ABOUT YXZ
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was founded on January 16, 1920 on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. by five coeds: Arizona Cleaver Stemons, Pearl Anna Neal, Myrtle Tyler Faithful, Viola Tyler Goings, & Fannie Pettie Watts. These women dared to depart from the traditional coalitions for African-American women and sought to establish a new organization based on the ideals of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood.
Upsilon Chi Zeta Chapter was chartered on August 6, 2006 in Rockford, Illinois by 9 women whose experiences as Zetas brought together a wealth of information and resources to assist in creating this extraordinary chapter. Upsilon Chi Zeta became the 28th chapter charted in the state of Illinois. We are a sisterhood committed to our Founders' Principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood.
